The Danish-Australian duo Palace Winter – consisting of Australian singer-songwriter Carl Coleman and Danish producer and pianist Caspar Hesselager (also known under the moniker My Heart The Brave) – will release their upcoming debut EP “Medication” on 2. October 2015.
While we’re waiting for that to happen, we can enjoy a little preview of the material – the second single “Menton”. The song sounds like Arcade Fire mixed with R.E.M. and …it seems like Palace Winter created a new genre: electronic country-indie-pop. This name sounds like a weird combination, but the music itself is great. Catchy, melodious, but not ordinary and boring. “Menton” creates an uplifting energy with its melody, but Palace Winter balances it with thoughtful lyrics.
I know autumn is coming and every way of gaining some extra energy before it starts is worth a lot. Try to listen to “Menton” in the mornings. I charged my positive energy generators quite a lot by doing that!
