With the self-titled EP, that saw the light of day on 23. June 2014, My Heart the Brave completes the imaginary summer playlist we had already started to put together with the earlier released songs of Caspar Hesselager’s solo-project: “Keep Me From It”, “Meditation One” and the last, danceable single “Temper”.
“My Heart the Brave” sounds like glimmering air over the heated asphalt of a roadway in the early evening hours of a warm summer day. Somewhat like the magical “golden hour”: those moments when the sun is setting and everything gets painted in soft, golden tones, looking beautiful (just like the artwork on the EP’s cover).
It also sounds like a summer party with a bunch of good friends, like dancing and the feeling of getting tipsy: “Our nights are made of solid gold, my dear”. The songs on the EP have somewhat ambivalent twists, appearing both hot, flirty and sexy, but also cooling, airy and fresh.
Its pulsing, nearly exotic and dramatic beats combined with vibes of some sort of whispering lightness, make fifth track “Meditation Two” not only to a favorite on the EP, but also give it the potential to get repeated many times during the next months, turning it into a personal summer hit.
You can buy or stream the whole EP “My Heart the Brave” on iTunes, Spotify or WiMP.
