A couple of years ago the music industry experienced a new phenomena of artist – young, male musicians almost melted into their pianos or at least keyboards. It started in 2009 with James Blake, continued in 2012 with SOHN and today we’re talking about Danish-Icelandic soul-pop duo WHYTE from Copenhagen and their fantastic new song “LDN”.
We all know the feeling of getting lost in daily routine and don’t know where we are belonging to be happy. WHYTE‘s masterminds Christian Prener and David Olafsson just released their new video for “LDN” and it perfectly shows the contradiction of hedonistic happiness, lost love and unrealized opportunities in a lifetime.
The first impression of the video is pretty simple: 2 pretty girls, noble house, huge pool, drinking alcohol, having a blast. But the storyline is constantly interrupted by these sad faces of Julie Rode and Frederikke Norvig and meditative synth melodies. Even better as the official video is this one below by Alexander “Kaiserfilm” Kaiser Lauritzen – an impressive and easy-going live version on the roofs of Copenhagen from April 2014.
WHYTE is going to release their debut EP in December 2014, but in the meantime you should definitely keep an eye on these guys and listen to them via Spotify or Soundcloud.
