There is something both, very Nordic and very rock’n’roll in the video to Pitch Black Spinney Machine‘s song “Swedish Eyes”.
The classic black & white images in the video made by Rockmoor Films create a perfect background for the song. The colours wake up a kind of nostalgy in me. But the pictures also disturb and have some sort of danger in them. That girl in the woods, she looks so innocent… but something tells us, she’s not such a good girl after all.
When we first mentioned the band on Good because Danish, we wrote: “Put together The Arctic Monkeys’ scratchy rock’n’roll style, The Rapture’s raw vibe, a noisy and pop-punk’ish soundscape and a pinch of uncontrollable craziness, and you’ll get PBSM – Pitch Black Spinney Machine.”
