In the same hard hitting vein of “You’re Good But I’m Better”, “Trickle Trickle” manages to be at once epic and in-your-ear intimate.
Kill J is a pop assassin, her melodies on this track are precision cut, climbing stealthily through the listener’s brain. In the same way that Bon Iver sings in a stratospheric range, Kill J whisks us away through gorgeous melodies, and lyrics of expansive imagery. “When my blood meets the first snow” is a pretty intense way to start a chorus, but Kill J delivers it in such an angelic manner, the contrast is what makes her so unique.
