The DJ duo Kenton Slash Demon – consisting of 2 members from When Saints Go Machine – will release their EP “Skydancer” later this month (vinyl premiere: 1. May, digital premiere: 25. May). The first preview of it is the over 7 minutes long, top class electronic piece “Skydancer I”. Give it a listen, it will make you fall madly in love with Danish electronic – if you’re not already.
There’s something dirty, dusty, elegant and disturbing in “Skydancer I” – you can hear all of it at the same time, in every single beat and sound of the composition. The intro vocals have echoes of “U know Y” by Moguai. The main core of “Skydancer I” brings back the characteristic beat from “Deamon”. The bridge around minute 5:20 has a jazzish, groove-ish vibe that attracts. By the time we reach the end of the song, we’re so deep into the musical universe of Kenton Slash Demon that there is no way out. All we can do is to press play again.
I often come back to the “Repeat 1 syndrome” – when I can’t stop listen to the same song over and over again. I will come back to it one more time in this case. “Skydancer I” is addicting. And makes me waiting impatiently for more new music from Kenton Slash Demon.
