The sounds, instruments and themes of Virgin Suicide‘s self-titled single are straight out of an 80’s coming of age hollywood flick. All that is missing is some freckles and a Molly Ringwald cameo.

The song, taken from the band’s namesake, is all heartfelt melodies, evoking a sort of youthful exuberance that we have come to expect from the vibrant Danish arts scene.

Virgin Suicide sound like a Replacements throw back, but with more smiling; this is a very good thing. Such chorus affected guitars and enthusiasm are equally fresh and at home today, making the song a unique entrance into the musical fray.
