Earlier this month, we stumbled upon the Danish singer-songwriter Sing Boy Sing when he published his first single “Enjoy To Get Lost” along with a suiting video.
Behind the one-man project Sing Boy Sing stands Thomas Thy Ladefoged Christensen, who has been playing several years in a number of bands in Copenhagen’s underground, before now being ready with his very own music.
For “Enjoy To Get Lost” he gathered quite a bunch of talented Danish musicians around himself: besides one of our songwriter darlings Esben Svane, who was in charge of producing and mixing the track, we can find Boho Dancer’s Símun Mohr playing the bass and Maria Jagd who also plays in Mother Lewinsky, on violin.
I was quickly hooked, not only on the – in my eyes – brilliant alias but also the song itself, with its wonderful, somewhat soothing folk sounds and the great use of instruments like blues harp or violin.
“Enjoy To Get Lost” describes – in the words of the artist himself –
“an unsettled period in Berlin, where the protagonist seeks a standpoint while the wild exuberant nightlife is passing by outside. A tempting offer, for a person in limbo.”
