Atlantis was a mythical land, an utopian place destroyed by earthquakes and swallowed by the sea. Anyone leaving such place must be truly a realist at heart but also experiences a mixture of sadness and relief. We can sense that kind of atmosphere in Leaving Atlantis, the band was formed by Signe Gry Thorup (Denmark) and Vesa Haapanen (Finland), music.
Listen to their latest song: “Don’t You Know”, and watch the video! Insightful lyrics reminds us of narrative perspective in Suzanne Vega’s old songs. Together with hypnotic pace, Signe’s soothing voice and electro acoustic finish (doesn’t it sound like Imogen Heap inspiration?) gave us a truly nice track.
