The summer festival season is upon us and in Denmark, it starts for real with a bang! Which is the Aarhus-based open-air Northside Festival, taking place between 6. and 8. June 2019. At Good because Danish we love live music and when it is combined with a lovely, cosy atmosphere (even though the event is quite big), we simply can’t say no to it!
“NorthSide’s debut in the Danish festival scene was a one-day festival on 19 June 2010, where all five acts were Danish. Since then, the festival has evolved into a three-day event with international top names divided between three stages and with a big focus on ecology and sustainability. On this page you can get an overview of the more than 100 bands and soloists who have visited Ådalen over time.” – press
As you can see, over nine years of being on the Danish music scene map, Northside changed its face quite much – from a local event to an established summer festival with international headliners (this year eg. Foals, Alice In Chains or First Aid Kit).
We also love and recommend you to go to Aarhus because of the remarkable atmosphere and focus on issues other than just music and having fun. Northside aims to be an eco-friendly and cosy event, and boy – we think they do it right!
The best part for us is that it is truly a hassle-free event, where you can enjoy your favourite artists and get a big outdoor festival feeling without worrying about your life.
This year – when it comes to the Danish acts in the line-up – one name brings our attention more than any other: it’s the rising star of the Danish creative world – Lydmor.
With her latest album “I Told You I’d Tell Them Our Story”, she has built an amazing musical Universe, which she then transformed into an awesome, mind-opening live experience during live shows. We are more than certain that she will once again surprise the Northside Festival audience with her concert.
We caught Lydmor in Aarhus actually, where she is currently performing with the Aarhus Theater and is a part of an amazing creative “monster” (As she calls it) – a play titled “Orestien”.
Lydmor answeres a few questions about festivals and of course invites you to her Northside concert.
