Denmark’s newcomer music scene in a nutshell, that is what you can always expect to find at SPOT festival in Aarhus. This year, after a break, Good because Danish comes back to one of our favourite Danish events, ready to get blown away by performances of upcoming artists. We also cannot wait to see known SPOT favorites such as BAEST, Barbro, Selina Gin, Søren Manscher, Rumpistol, Spleen United, and more! Read further to see which new ones to keep an eye on!
SPOT Festival has created an awesome, extensive playlist with all the acts from this year’s line-up represented. Give it a listen!
Good because Danish chose 10 acts we’re looking forward to seeing live this year.

PAYDAR
PAYDAR
When going through the newcomers coming to SPOT this year, the DJ PAYDAR, aka Sabba Paida, was one of the acts that got us hooked instantly. The first track we heard was “moon” and immediately thought “we NEED to experience this one at SPOT 2026 live!!”. We expect the energy in the room to be electric, as their tracks seem to be built for those dark, bass-heavy festival moments. “Made in Denmark by Iranian refugees”. Make sure to catch PAYDAR’s set on Friday, 1. May, at 21:00 in the Rytmisk Sal, Musikhuset.

BOABOA
BOABOA
If you have a soft spot for infectious beats, BOABOA should be at the very top of your schedule. This trio creates a shimmering sonic universe where catchy melodies meet experimental electronic textures. BOABOAs sound like a late-night drive through a neon-lit city. We can’t wait to see how they translate their dark aesthetic into a live performance. They will be closing out the night on Friday, 1. May (technically Saturday morning) at 00:15 at the Pink Stage in the Aarhus Congress Center.

Tender Youth
Tender Youth
Tender Youth is a quartet that truly captures the spirit of modern post-punk. We can imagine them having quite a raw, brooding energy on stage, and cannot wait to see it. There is an unmistakable realness to their sound that reminds us of the best 90s indie rock while staying firmly rooted in the present. Violent violins and emotional vocals transport and unapologetic urgency. Don’t miss their performance on Volume Village.

Green Tea Bitches
Green Tea Bitches
For something completely different and unapologetically loud, look no further than the Chinese-Danish duo Green Tea Bitches. They weaponize dance-punk and a DIY attitude to eliminate borders between good and bad taste. The result: absolute artistic freedom. Their debut single, “Bad Taste,” already won our hearts with its satirical edge and energy. It’s the kind of music that demands you stop worrying about looking cool and just start dancing along to the chaos. You can join them on Saturday, 2. May, at 15:30 at the Cirkelscenen in Musikhusparken.

Jaleesa
Jaleesa
Finally, Jaleesa is an artist who reminds us why we fell in love with jazz and soul. Her voice carries an incredible emotional depth, sounding both timeless and refreshingly modern against her polished, minimalist production. With lyrics about living as a woman and Afro-Dane, we are particularly looking forward to hearing how her soulful range fills the hall. Catch her surely magical performance on Saturday, 2. May, at 19:00 in the Rytmisk Sal, Musikhuset.

efteraar
efteraar
There’s something quietly magnetic about efteraar, a band that captures the in-between feeling of things ending and beginning, wrapping wistful indie pop in sweeping rock textures that feel both tender and cinematic. Drawing on autumnal shades of melancholy and light, their songs move from fragile intimacy to wide-open, heart-lifting crescendos. They play on Saturday 2. May at 17:15 at Cirkelscenen in Musikhusparken.

Kejser
Kejser
Kejser makes beautifully oddball pop for those who’ve never quite fit in. Kajser turns poetic unrest and playful eccentricity into bright, theatrical indie songs that linger long after the first listen. There’s a charming unpredictability to their sound, where naïve pop meets something more sensual, something that contains Danishness inside. They play 1. May at 17:00 at Cirkelscenen in Musikhusparken.

Who Killed Bambi x SheCanPlay Master
Who Killed Bambi x SheCanPlay Master
A special meeting of fresh voices and bold reinterpretation, SheCanPlay’s collaboration with SPOT Festival and Who Killed Bambi promises something quietly extraordinary. Featuring emerging artists from Master class 2026, like hun_sagde, Esther Osei, Thea Dora, Vilma Crow, Sovi, and Mercedess, this showcase will reshape pop, soul, R&B, and alternative pop into something richer, stranger, and beautifully cinematic through original string arrangements. It feels like the kind of concert where familiar songs will reveal entirely new colours, opening up unexpected emotional depth along the way. Head out to Rytmisk Sal, Musikhuset on 2. May at 17:15.

Berg
Berg
Berg‘s music moves effortlessly between tender reflection and sharp, explosive release, carried by a voice that feels both intimate and quietly commanding. There’s a restless curiosity at the centre of Berg’s sound, an artist unafraid to test new shapes and moods while holding on to the honesty that makes her songs hit home. Don’t miss her show at Aarhus Congress Center, Pink Stage on the 2. May at 20:45.

VILMA
VILMA
VILMA makes emotionally rich pop that feels both deeply personal and strikingly clear-eyed. There’s something compelling in the way VILMA turns difficult feelings into music that feels generous rather than heavy, intimate yet expansive. She plays 1. May at 14:45 at Buen – Volume Village.
Looking forward to seeing the great Danish acts, and YOU, at SPOT Festival this weekend! Vi ses i Aarhus!
