@theresarexmusic explores difficult topics and mixes them with outstanding pop music in her single “BAD BLOOD”. The song talks about the hardest breakup of all – that from a friend.
“‘Bad Blood’ is the story of two friends – about a special friendship in that “mixed blood”, ride or die way. But also about the ultimate failure when she was with my boyfriend,” says Theresa Rex and continues: “I quickly forgot about the guy who cheated on me. But it’s different with a friend. I had been stabbed in the back, and it was unreasonably difficult to see the unbreakable bond I thought we had between us be torn in half. Friend break-ups are just one of the things that hurt the most.”
A catchy melody of “BAD BLOOD” is pop music at its best. It brings to mind songs by Dua Lipa or Katy Perry. The beat makes you wanna jump around and go wild on the dancefloor. However, the lyrics bring tears to the eyes. That’s the ultimate expression of “Danishness” of the song. Theresa Rex shows in her single, that it is okay to be sad on the dancefloor.
In the greyness of January, “BAD BLOOD” is a great reminder that even with a heavy heart, we can try to move on. And it is easier when the sadness is being expressed.
