Danish music has a lot to offer and we find many songs we keep coming back to, as well as new stuff which ends up on “Repeat 1”. These days the four releases you can find below are on a loop in our speakers.

These days we listen to…

FURNS – “Safe with You Forever”

Once again a new song from FURNS caught our ear and doesn’t want to leave. The chillout sounds, the pillow-feel-like vocals and comforting lyrics create a composition which is like a shoulder to lean on in the time of need. To get the reassurance that someone is there for us – in such beautiful form – is uplifting.

MATTIS – “To the Rhythm”

MATTIS and his music – especially the single “To the Rhythm” have been with me for a few months now and my love for them is getting stronger and stronger. The guitar line in “To the Rhythm” is simply addictive and sounds like a musical pulse of the song. MATTIS’ super characteristic vocals are the cherry on top of it. If you look for an ear-warm song, you found it.

GRETA – “Spin”

GRETA‘s music truly speaks to us. Her slightly dreamy, esoteric compositions show the power as well as thoughtfulness. “Spin” is no different. With the somewhat lazy melody and the gentle sound of her voice, GRETA paints a picture of her musical universe gracefully. The new single makes me feel as if I was examining some kind of a tiny, microorganism under the microscope. Each piece of the song seems to show up sharp and strong with every listen.

OKAPI – “Når Strømmen Går”

The latest OKAPI album “Når Strømmen Går” is a beautiful, charming collection of songs for cosy, quiet evenings. Actually, I think this record will be perfect for Autumn time. The fact that all lyrics are in Danish gives the album a special touch. “Når Strømmen Går” makes the listener dream, wonder, go through memories, notice little wonders of life and beauty of nature. You can hear the raindrops in the songs, you can feel the wind on a field somewhere, you can almost touch the rock of the mountain when hearing the music. OKAPI made magic happen on the album that you need to experience on your own.
