SPOT Festival is THE festival Good because Danish is looking forward to the most each year and 2018 is no different. Because where else to go if we want to find out what’s new and hot in Danish music, than to Aarhus in May? The answer is simple: there is no other place to be! The line-up of this year’s SPOT Festival is shaping up pretty awesome and we started digging into it to see what are our top #mustsee acts. Check out the blog the next weeks to read which SPOT Festival concert we will attend for sure.

Theis Vesterløkke and Niels Fejrskov Juhl are out there conquering Europe with their synths, drum machines and lyrics that may or may not trigger a brief existential crisis. Truly, the atmosphere they created on the latest album “About Time” is so raw and special, it almost makes you not want to share the experience but keep it all to yourself. However, we at Good Because Danish are not greedy, and we invite you all to see GENTS at SPOT Festival with us! But first, a little interview to introduce the band and get you even more excited.

Good because Danish: Your last tour was in Russia – how did it go?

GENTS: It was amazing to visit Russia for the first time ever. Only good vibes, spa’ing in Moscow, amazing vodka and insanely cold weather. Theis got a bit sick though and was bit by a stray dog in Rostov on the way to the pharmacy. Also a dangerous place! But the shows were truly magical and the cigarettes truly cheap <3

Have you noticed any significant differences between your audiences in Denmark and abroad?

Like in all the other countries we’ve visited, people were super nice to us! It really warmed our heart to see so many lovely guys n gals and everything in between. And we experienced that being a huge fan of GENTS and Take That goes hand in hand.

We love your latest album “About Time”! Is there any song on it that you find the most special? What’s the story behind it?

It’s impossible to choose between your kids. They’re all very close to us… Right now, we’re very keen on our newest creations on Moments, which we have been working on the last 6 months’ time or so…

Festival season is approaching – if you were to put up your own dream festival, which bands would be in the lineup?

Kylie Minogue, Michael Jackson, Donald Fagen, Safri Duo.

We will not miss your set at SPOT Festival! What should we expect?

GENTS are in it to win it. We’re bringing a bunch of new tunes and are ready to take over the world. It’ll be full of love, sweat, tears and little bit of glitter.

Talk us through your plans for the future – how’s 2018 shaping up for GENTS?

We’re currently working on our next album. And at the moment we’re experimenting a lot. Drum n bass, epic trance and meditation bells. We just want to mix up a new decadent GENTS cocktail of the things we love the most.

Double single “Moments” by GENTS is out now via Big Oil Recording Company.
