If you follow Good because Danish, you know that we decided to join forces with Mona Schnell for the first time for a showcase during SPOT Festival in Aarhus earlier this year. Little did we know back then, that only a few months later we’d host the first Good because Danish Night in Hamburg at the cool venue KNUST.
All three names performing on 23. September – Ida Wenøe, marstal:lidell and Ida Gard – had already been part of our OFF SPOT event in May. Partly according to the good old saying “Never change a running system”, but mostly since the first event was such a nice success, we decided to take the same artists along to Hamburg. However, a lot has changed in all projects since then.
In Hamburg, Ida Wenøe played touching songs from her solo debut album, which came out in Scandinavia in early September. The duo marstal:lidell performed completely new material, which will be released on their upcoming EP “Slow Music For Fast People” later this month. And Ida Gard charmed the audience with some older songs, but mentioned that her new album was almost finished! Exciting news!
After a mellow set from Ida Wenøe, marstal:lidell took the audience on a journey to a completely different universe. In the end the strong musical accent from the charismatic Ida Gard brought us to our knees. We can honestly say: the first Good because Danish Night in Hamburg was a blast – not only for us, but also for everyone who showed up at KNUST.
Thanks to the great artists, the cool venue and the interested audience, the night couldn’t have been any better!
You can find some impressions from the night on our Instagram @goodbecausedanish and in the photo gallery below. Some photos of the following gallery are taken by the lovely Anna Lidell from marstal:lidell, who apparently has not only a musical talent :)
Oh, and by the way: the next Good because Danish Night in Hamburg will take place in 2016 and we can’t wait to share more details with you soon!
