You may have felt the ground shaking on Monday, 14. September as Aarhus-based I’LL BE DAMNED released the music video of the second single from their upcoming album “I’ll be damned”.
“Drainage”, as the song is called, is a black and white explosion of energy with a delicious old-school touch, which underlines the band’s slightly self-derisional attitude. But don’t get fooled; I’LL BE DAMNED is a band with a serious mission! They think than Danish rock has become too mainstream and want to reverse the trend by making rock as it should be: “angry, tight, loud and with a message”.
“Drainage” exemplifies this ambition perfectly, not only because of the heavy riffs and the social criticism of the lyrics, but also visually, through the rapid sequences of background images of war, explosions and other cataclysms visible in the video.
So wake up from your apathy and watch “Drainage”! This should help you to ease the pain of having to wait another month before the album release on 19. October. I’LL BE DAMNED is also inviting everybody to join them and celebrate the album release on 17. October in Copenhagen and on 24. October in Aarhus.
