Everyone of us was once a little girl or a little boy, coming back home from school on their own for the very first time. Discovering the independence and the wild, crazy world by ourselves. No mother holding our hand, no father telling us to look to both sides of the street before crossing. We had to be grown up people. Yet still, we stayed kids.

If you miss these times of coming back home alone as a kid, you will love the little adventure that the boy in Bene‘s video to “The Mood” will take you on. The little loner walking around an empty fun fair, weird industrial ruins, and in the end playing a small private show for Bene herself – the video made by Tue Blichfeldt is sweet and carefree. Just like childhood, but with a piece of melancholy – like the ghost of adulthood.

Bene is the stage name of Benedicte Pierleoni-Nielsen, who you might recognize from the Danish girl trio Baby In Vain. While Bene shows her rocky, heavy and raw side in Baby In Vain’s work, in her solo project she reveals the more melancholic, delicate side of her musical sensibility.

We like both sides of Bene and hope to hear more of her solo stuff soon. For now you can listen to “The Mood” and watch the lovely video clip to the song on YouTube.
