The Woken Trees amazed me with their seducing, as well as scary and dangerous track “Yells” and the debut album “NNON”. Already after the release I could tell that these guys have crazy good ideas and a very sharp, uncompromising style. The new video to The Woken Trees’ single “In The Center Of The Pyre” confirmed my theory. If you like psychedelic art with a touch of perfectionism and darkness – don’t miss that clip!

The video to “In The Center Of The Pyre” was made by Palle Demant from Fuzz Cake Film, who literally put the band into scenes of the animated American post-apocalyptic science fantasy film “Wizards” created by Ralph Bakshi in 1977 (you can watch the whole movie on YouTube).

The Woken Trees’ music fits these disturbing scenes showing fear, hatred and darkness rule. The chaos and madness of the music and images coming to my ears and eyes when watching the video to “In The Center Of The Pyre” made the light of day less bright and the unnamed fear inside me more real than it usually is.

If you think it’s about time to get disturbed in your – what seems to be – idyllic life, watch The Woken Trees’ video clip on YouTube. It may force you to re-evaluate some things in life.
