Checking into Good because Danish’s mailbox can sometimes feel quite overwhelming, making you realize that this small country really catapults an unbelievable amount of talented artists into the musicosphere.
This might indeed be an odd start for a post about such a well-known Danish name as Oh Land – yet, it tells the story of how many “secret tips” come flowing into our mailbox basically on a daily basis. “Secret” in this case not because Nanna Øland Fabricius’ project would in any way be secret anymore, but because of the fact that no matter how updated we try to be on the Danish scene, even its best-known acts sometimes throw gimmicks into the public that we simply wouldn’t be aware of – if it wasn’t for someone dropping us a hint.
Just as the intimate office performance – and the likeable interview – the adorable singing Danish expat gave for the staff of her local Brooklyn Magazine.
Besides “Nothing Is Over”, the performance also featured Oh Land’s hit “White Nights”, a great version of “Wolf & I”, both from the self-titled second studio album from 2011, and single “Head Up High” from latest album “Earth Sick” (more about it HERE).
Why I’m then particularly mentioning the beautiful take on “Nothing Is Over” (also from latest album “Earth Sick”)? Well, mainly because it was the one I got straight back to after watching all videos from the performance. And the one I’m listening to on repeat ever since… Sigh.
