Big news were brought to us on Monday morning – 19. January – about the long-awaited sixth studio album coming from Mew, titled “+ -” (Plus Minus). It finally has a release date: 27. April 2015. It will be available in three different formats, a Deluxe Double CD Book, a CD Mintpack and a 12″ Vinyl, all of them ready to pre-order from today, 21. January, via the website HERE.
But that’s not it, a new single came out as well – “Satellites”. Although this song (previously known as “Klassen”) has been played live since 2012, it has evolved a whole lot. Now, as a proper single, “Satellites” has taken a more complete shape. While the version published on SoundCloud is a shorter edit though, you can listen to the full track via Spotify.
Mew never stops surprising us with the production of their astounding pop tunes, and “Satellites” is no exception. Here we have Mew to the max in a incredible harmonious joyful track. Every time you hear it you find another treasure hiding between the layers. It feels complex but simple at the same time, something that I think characterizes their sound.
And last but definitely not least, a European tour in May was announced as well. Paris, Amsterdam, Berlin among other cities will be lucky to have Mew around. For more details about the album and the tour visit Mew’s new official website or MewX the official fan site and archive.
What can I say? It was a good day for all of the frengers around the world!
