spildanskdagenheaderSpil Dansk Dagen – or: Danish Music Day, on the last Thursday in October, marks the celebration of Danish produced music. The general goal of the initiative behind the day is to spread interest in “music made in Denmark”: numberous (over 1400!) concerts and events are happening all over DK (increasingly in other countries as well!) and many Danish radio stations focus on home-made music in their programs.

Due to the growing number of arrangements, this year’s celebrations are not only planned for the 30. October 2014, but are scheduled over this whole week 44. Check the calendar for an event near you and read more about Spil Dansk Dagen HERE (in Danish).

So, technically speaking, every day is Spil Dansk Dag here on Good because Danish!

But since we still wanna be part of the party, we decided to focus more on music sung in Danish for this occasion: last year we put together a playlist with older and newer Danish gems, this year we teamed up with a bunch of young artists and prepared a little series with beautiful songs in Danish, including some translated lyrics and the background of their stories. Every day this week, we’ll be posting one of them – so stay tuned and improve your Danish! ;)
