Anders Lauge Melgaard, the creative mind behind Frisk Frugt, released the first single from his forthcoming material, “Solhyldest 1. Del”. The album “Den Europæiske Spejlbue” will be out in November 2014 in Denmark via Tambourhinoceros and tentatively January 2015 in the rest of the world.
Frisk Frugt has previously released “Guldtrompeten”, which came out in 2006 and was very appreciated by Danish press.
After that came – the not so easy to remember – “Dansktoppen møder Burkina Faso i det himmelblå rum hvor solen bor, suite” in 2010. This one also managed to capture a lot of attention, not only in Denmark but also abroad, for instance in the UK.
After listening to “Solhyldest 1. Del”, it became clear that Frisk Frugt is ready to astound once again. It’s hard to accomplish what he does with the new single: how can you get the childish, eccentric sounds to be so vibrant and innovative with such a remarkable production? Ask Anders. If a “frisk frugt” (engl. fresh fruit) could emanate a sound – this would be it.
We can only look forward with excitement to the release date. Meanwhile the ease can be calmed on 1. November where Frisk Frugt will be playing with several musicians in Copenhagen as part of “Wundergrund”. This can’t be missed!
