Bon Iver, Damian Rice, Mumford & Sons and a little bit of something totally different and new… what we will get from such mix? One of the most charming new acoustic acts, that showed itself to the world this Monday, 18. August 2014 – Men of Polaroids.
The duo consisting of Mathias Elrød Madsen and Djarn Kargin presented their first single “Darkness” this week. It’s a wonderful composition, softly covering your body as a cozy blanket of sounds. It starts simple, with an acoustic guitar and warm, touching vocals and then it develops into a landscape of sounds of different instruments (the two members of Men of Polaroids are playing all of them themselves).
The song is like taking a walk with these two Danish gentlemen. This musical tour in “Darkness” feels like walking around Men of Polaroids’ neighborhood. It’s a bitter-sweet trip, packed with a lot of intimate moments and melancholia, but also consisting of that very special peace and calmness that we all feel when we come back home.
We’re looking forward to visit Men of Polaroids’ neighborhood once more when they will release their debut album “Following The Sun” (premiere: 6. October 2014 via Danish Music & Entertainment).
