All people have their oddities: some (including myself) cherish time spent alone, within the protecting four walls of one’s personal little cave, mostly accompanied by nothing else but own thoughts. Those moments in intimate surroundings can count as precious times, or they turn addictive and lead in the worst case directly into social isolation.
Whatever nuance Jimmy Andersen had in mind and regardless whether it’s even some sort of alter ego; with the name of his solo project he found what I understand as beautifully suiting label for human beings with this kind of quirk: Chamber Junkie.
Under said moniker he today, on 17. April 2014, released the song “Love Aspirin Stoned” – and with it the promising first single of his forthcoming debut album.
“Love Aspirin Stoned” combines a catchy pop melody with appealing electronic and rock tunes. The lyrical level tells of aching love, as one example of the struggle between interpersonal relations, some weird power play and a subconcious wish for solitude.
For recordings or live shows of Chamber Junkie, to give his project energetic depth, Jimmy Andersen – who also acts as front man of Among Relatives – gathers other talented musicians around himself: you can find Turboweekend’s Martin Øhlers Petersen behind the drums and Anders Birk, who among others played with Carpark North.
