Not too many days ago I was in London and so was the amazing Karen Marie Ørsted aka MØ.
Initially the plan was to get tickets to see her at Heaven on 7. March, but non-surprisingly the gig was sold out in advance (she has quite an established fan base in London). However, thanks to MØ‘s Facebook page I found out she was playing one day before at The Notting Hill Arts Club, this wasn’t sold out and I got to see her. It was certainly my lucky day!
The venue was so tiny and intimate and it might have been one of the smallest stages I have ever experienced, one of those without a fence. Trust me, it was way too little and insignificant for the energy and stage presence that MØ emanates when she performs!
I was at the front row and the contagious way she interacts with the audience makes you want to keep partying all night long. Unfortunately the setlist was not long. The night started with the catchy “Walk This Way” (it’s been some days since I saw her so I’m afraid I can’t remember the exact order of the songs) then her well known singles followed; “Glass”, “Pilgrim”, “Don’t Wanna Dance”, “XXX 88”, “Waste of Time” and even her Spice Girls cover of “Say You’ll Be There” were present making the crowd go insane!
If you dear Reader ever get the opportunity to see her live don’t you dare to hesitate for a second.
You can find out where in Europe MØ will play the next months on her new official website.
