TrickyOHLAND-ImNotGoing

A new Tricky album is always fantastic news but it is usually not something I celebrate on Good because Danish, the man being an English citizen. However, this year Tricky had the genius idea to invite the Danish singer Oh Land to collaborate on one song of his new album “Skilled Mechanics” released on 22. January, and it is definitely something I want to share with you!

The song is called “I’m Not Going” and it is the very first track on the album. It instantly plunges the listener into the characteristic industrial and quite depressive universe of trip hop. A universe that differs from the more positive and colorful one I usually associate with Oh Land.

But the least I can tell you is that it really does fit her very well. Her warm voice balances perfectly the coldness of Adrian Thaws’ and gives the song a solid consistence despite of the minimalistic musical composition and the gloomy lyrics. I could definitely hear more from the melancholic Oh Land and you should hurry up and listen to that song, if you haven’t yet!
