There are not many things that may surprise you in indie rock music. Most compositions don’t differ much from each other. The melody drifting around guitar riffs, some characteristic vocals, lyrics telling the story about unhappy love and some inspirations from last decades. Sounds very cliché. However, it is still what people want to listen to and new artists playing this style are warmly welcomed.

Copenhagen band Kalaha is one of the raising stars in a summer-surf climate. Taking the best from the 80’s, they reflect youth and melancholic energy. All packed with drum beats, a bit dirty guitar riffs and synth chords. The catchy melodies are dominated by feminine vocals.

The band consists of Signe Rønsov, Mathias Larsen Löfvall, Mathias Gørtz, Anton Langebæk, Simon Gørtz, Tobias and Mathias Bang Madsen. They have just released their EP simply entitled “Kalaha”. The mini album consists of five tracks, all of them bring back the memories of sweet laziness, we could experience just a few months ago.

Check them out by listening to the EP “Kalaha” on SoundCloud and give the band a like on Facebook.
